The world of reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery can be difficult to navigate. With so many different procedures and techniques available and so much technical information to understand, many prospective patients have trouble figuring out where to begin. However, as a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic breast, facial, and body-contouring surgery, I have found that the patients who are happiest with their plastic surgery results tend to be those who understand exactly what to expect and who have reasonable, well-informed expectations. That is why I decided to try to help patients get the important information that they need in my new website and educational blog.
As a recognized expert in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, I have lectured at many national and international plastic surgery symposia about some of the most challenging topics in the field, and the experience that I have gained after more than twenty years of performing body contouring and facial cosmetic surgery procedures on thousands of men and women has given me valuable insights into how to best help my patients achieve their individual goals. I am happy to have the opportunity to pass along some of that knowledge by providing informative videos, discussing current plastic surgery and facial rejuvenation topics, informing my patients about the latest options, and directly answering their most frequently asked questions.
Plastic surgery is a constantly changing field of medicine, with new techniques and technology being developed virtually every day. I have always made it a priority to stay on the leading edge of those developments, first as a board member on the Allergan Breast Aesthetics’ Executive Council, where I participated as an investigator of Allergan’s 410 silicone gel implants for over eight years, and today as co-president of Innovative Biologics, a research company investigating the development of biologically integrated implants for use in breast reconstruction. Being among the first surgeons with access to the latest, cutting-edge technology gives me a unique opportunity to improve the experience of my patents and help them make informed choices about all of their available options.
