In the more than twenty years that I have served the men and women of Atlanta and beyond as a board certified plastic surgeon I have learned a great deal, but perhaps the most important lesson is that truly satisfying, long-term results are achieved when you make the effort to treat every patient as a unique individual. The decision to undergo cosmetic plastic surgery is always a deeply personal one, and with so many different factors to consider it can sometimes be difficult to figure out where to begin. Each patient has their own personal goals and requirements, and it is vitally important that you find a plastic surgeon whose perspective, vision, and priorities match your own. That’s why I strongly believe that every plastic surgeon should have an overarching philosophy, a set of personal principles that define their practice and the role they want to play. My personal philosophy of plastic surgery can best be summed up in two words: patient centered.
For my entire career, I have made it a priority to see each person as a unique individual. This allows me, working with my staff, to customize my evaluation, treatment, and care to each patient’s needs. It is really about simply treating each person the way I would want to be treated. The art and science of plastic surgery is infinitely adaptable, with a variety of ways to achieve exceptional plastic surgery results. When I take the time to really listen to my patients’ goals, I can use my experience and expertise to find creative ways to achieve those desires while working within the requirements of their own medical history and safety needs. You can hear me speak more about my personal plastic surgery philosophy in this interview I filmed for the Plastic Surgery Channel.
As you can see, establishing a patient-centric approach begins when the patient first walks into my office and continues long after their procedure is done. My staff and I work hard to build a support network around the patient, to give them the sense that they are going to be well looked after and that they are going to be treated with respect. I work with them to develop a personalized treatment plan to address their immediate concerns and to offer additional procedures and non-surgical rejuvenation techniques that can help maintain their results and keep them looking their best for many years down the line. In this sense, they really become patients for life and I let them know that my door is always open.
If you have individual areas of concern that you are interested in having addressed through a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure, please feel free to contact my office and schedule a full consultation. During that consultation we can use the advanced Vectra® M3 imaging system to preview potential results and determine exactly what procedure is right for you.
